From Juan F. Lara : I thought the conjunctions gag was clever. Beyond that this short had nothing remarkable. Familiar gags about tough school work, and puns on book titles. I guess that kid-age duck is supposed to be Ludwig Von Drake's nephew. Did the makers create him for this short, or has he been seen before?

From Lee Suggs : This cartoon starts off well with Goofy being defeated on a game show by Ludwig Von Drake. No one can do complete, hilarious confusion as well as Goofy. Goofy then proceeds to go back to school to "get smart". This short's segments are entertaining with great animations of little Goofys and a little Von Drake, a nice bit on the importance of reading, and fun with basketball and dueling chalk figures. The short's one problem is a weak ending.
